“Rafa is a total class act, and because of his success and the way he is as a person, and what he brings to tennis, no one should be telling him what to do”
Left handers bring a certain aesthetic beaty to any sport and often the unconventional character to go alongside.
Two of tennis’s great left-handers were Raphael Nadal of Spain and John McEnroe of America. Both multiple grand slam winners and both with yells that typify their personalities.
Nadal - determined and resilient would celebrate key points with a roar of defiance.
McEnroe of fragile temperament would often lose patience and yell famously at officials, opponents and also at himself. This was a call of exasperation not celebration.
Different personalities but great champions.
